Highlights Of The MDPI
Mathematics Learning Profile
The Mathematics Learning Profile (MLP) is the major output of the MDPI. It represents a portrait of a student's strengths and weaknesses and provides a map for current and future instructional efforts.
A student's MLP includes:
- level of achievement
- the student's inherent processing style in mathematics
- executive processes and behavioral postures that impact
performance in mathematics
- self-esteem and self-efficacy with respect to mathematical competence
By understanding the student's MLP, teachers, parents and the students themselves can identify reasons why the student is doing poorly and why mathematics might be a struggle.
